I had no old snaps but came across this one of my grandaughter, who at the time, was not even two years old, flipping through the pages of a magazine.  Her mother was in the other room and thought she was exceptionally quiet while she was having a snack.  She peeked around the corner and saw Katie Rose flipping through the pages and seemed very interested in what she was looking at.  Her mother and father are avid readers, so I guess it robbed off on her.

This is a picture of a baseball team from Boiestown, New Brunswick, Canada.  Boiestown is the geographical center of the province of New Brunswick. It boasts a lumberman museum, complete with a little train that takes you in and around the woods.  I found these men looking pretty gallant in their suits, obviously they did not dress like this to play ball. Chic Fashions from the 1920's

 

I went with women's fashion for this week's SepiaSaturday.

 

This were pictures I took at a museum in Vancouver last April.  The ones I have included here are mainly in the 1920's.

 

When I look at the post for this week, I can't help but wonder how well off the women were that were able to purchase these beautiful dresses, not like that poor lady by the cardboard hut in the picture.

 

Mostly the creations are from the States, but this lone entry in a polka dot dress designed in Vancouver in the '20's.

 

Any of these stylish dresses could be worn today, they are classics.

 

Such elegance, wish we would go back to wearing such chic fashions nowadays.

Can't believe I am back in Canada, trip over

 

I will start to post some pictures of my trip to London, Amsterdam, Black Forrest, Heidelburg, Lucerne, Switzerland, and Paris, France in the next couple of days.  We had relatively lovely weather, it rained on the last day of our bus tour, we were walking the streets of Paris so didn't mind so much, there was so much to look at, ♫♫ I love Paris in the sunshine, I love Paris in the rain....♫♫

 

 

 

Dawn, my best friend and I took this trip, it is a trip of a lifetime for me, I really enjoyed the sights and sounds.  This, of course, is the London Eye which we got on at just about dusk, thus getting daylight and nightime advantages.

 

This is a typical London cab, one like this took us from Harrod's to The Savoy, not a very long distance, it seemed like we were going around in circles and was charge 14.50 pounds, I thought this was way too expensive!!!!

 

 

Visited the Sherlock Holmes Pub, had tradional Fish and Chips.

 

Also had a brew called Stella Artois, the place was like a museum, lot of Sherlock Holmes artifacts.

 

We had afternoon tea at The Savoy, what a classy place, was one of my favorite stops.

 

This portrait hung in the foyer of the women's washroom in The Savoy, if I ever go there again, I would like to dress up to the nines instead of tourist gear.......

Well, that is all for my installment of pictures, will post more as the days go by of the others places I visited during my Trafalgar Tour, which may I add, was exquisive, both the Tour Director, Emile and the suberb driving of the bus driver, Tomo, kudos to both!!

What are bubbles?

I took this picture this summer of my grand daughter, Katie Rose.  She was outside on the deck intently watching her cousins playing with a bubble wand, making all kinds of bubbles.  This was new to her and she is really studying the whole affair.  I was sitting inside in front of a screened window.  I took the picture anyway, I wanted to capture the look on her face.  It is one of my favorite pictures of Katie Rose.  It is so exciting to see little ones discover what we take for granted.

She has since mastered the art of making bubbles, it is one of her favorite past times!  She and their 14 year old "Sheltie" chase bubbles all around their deck now.

Cartoon postcard

I couldn't exactly find a postcard or picture with a dog, but I figured bones and brains are both part of our bodies, so I went with this cartoony postcard.  The back of it is post marked 1918.

Peacemaker Tall Ship sails up the river

The tall ship, Peacemaker from USA docked at Station Wharf, Chatham/Miramichi last Wednesday. It is class A which is the largest class of tall ships.

Tours were being given, it was slated to leave today, but the crew has decided to stay a few more days. 

This marks the 15th anniversary of Tall Ships docking here, it all started with The Bounty 15 years ago.
