Boats heading out to fish lobsters in Tabusintac, NB, Canada

Lobster season starting in Tabusintac, New Brunswick, Canada!  Gail Harding took this breathtaking picture as the fleet was heading out this morning.  It was very early in the morning, what a fantastic photo!  I wish I had been there to witness this too.  It is a dangerous industry and I wish them safety on the waters.  God be with them!

There are many Winnie the Pooh corners in the world.....

I took this picture while I was still housesitting a large waterfront property.  It was a grand place overlooking the Miramichi River.  When the owner was there, he would go for walks along the beach with these rubber boots and walking stick.  I saw this and thought it would make a nice composition, especially with Winnie the Pooh to add a touch of color.

Sepia Saturday, April 27, 2013

I know I am going out on a limb here, but I chose a bench to coincide with this week's SepiaSaturday themes of newspapers, benches, events of the day.

I have sat on this bench many many times at Ritchie's Wharf in my town, Miramichi.  I have read books, ate ice cream from a little shop down the boardwalk and have sat alone and in the company of others, some friends, some strangers.

Facing the mighty Miramichi River, there is always some activity, like boats coming in to dock, seagulls flying overheard, tourboats floating by, people milling about, but on this bench, I could get lost in thought or prose.

My sister Jeanette.

I moved recently, (in December) and yesterday, I started to sort out one of the closets I had thrown a lot of boxes in.  I came across pictures from awhile back.  This is a picture I took of my sister, Jeanette in 1999.  She has since moved away to Alberta and I miss her dearly.

She is coming home for a visit in a couple of weeks, looking greatly forward to her visit!  She is the baby of the family.

This picture of Jeanette and me was taken at the end of the photo shoot by a timer on my camera.

Somewhere in the outskirts of Lucerne, Switzerland.

While in Lucerne, Swittzerland last Fall, our bus tour director, Emile took us on a horse buggy to a countryside up in the mountains.  We came to this place where we were fed a lunch and beverages.  I thought this old broom looked so quaint.  I wish I could remember the name of the small village, it will come to me no doubt (around 3am some morning).....

SepiaSaturday, April 13, 2013

This, in a way, is more then one person going somewhere, so far, I am still in theme......These people, believe it or not, were going on a fishing expedition up river from Miramichi, New Brunswick.  Note the fancy dress of the ladies, I guess back then, you never dressed down even if it was to go fishing!

For more photos of all kinds of people, hats, no hats, socks, long pants, short pants, etc go to www.http://sepiasaturday.blogspot.com  and have a wonderful weekend fellow sepians!!!
