I can't believe this, we are in for another snowfall starting tomorrow evening, stopping for a bit on Wedneday morning, then 15-20 cm Wednesday afternoon into the evening. I don't have much more space to put anymore snow removal. I want to go south for the rest of the winter!!!!
I received an email from a niece in Ontario this morning. She wanted to contact someone about the family history. It got me interested in finding out more about my Mother's ancestry..the Duclos clan. Think I will start a search, from what I've been told they came from an island off France's coast, Saint Maurice.

I went to a Kitchen Party in Loggieville last night. It was an older style home, they had a band in the living room and there was enough room for dancing!! It was a night of pleasant surprises as I bumped into one of my first cousins whom I hadn't seen for a few years. Two of my favorite guys sang and a famous photographer from Fredericton was also a guest, lovely evening all around.

I couldn't resist taking this picture of the tree from inside the Goodie Shop restaurant a couple of weeks ago. Thank goodness for the four seasons, there is beauty in all four!! A group of us meet there almost every Saturday morning for breakfast to sort of kick off the weekends.

Well, we are getting our snow as promised, tricky driving home from work tonight, went a bit sideways going up my incline driveway. Got close enough to plug in the car and that is where it is staying all night!!

I have just received a call, choir practice is cancelled tonight, we shall sing an Anthem that we all know, works for me...........think I will go make a pot of gulash.

What an absolutely gorgeous day today!! It was a little nippy but not as cold as yesterday. I started following Allie Howe, he paints but his paintings looks like a photograph. He is married to one of the agents at our office. Very talented fellow.

Having a quiet evening at home tonight, getting mellow..

What a cold last couple of days!! My car growled at me a couple of times yesterday morning, but eventually started. I used too much juice from the battery, therefore setting off the LOCK mode to my radio/clock/stereo. Now, if I could only remember the secret code, I could have music in my car again! I bought an outdoor extension cord and plugged in my car tonight. I'll have no music but, I will have a car that starts........

Went to Toastmasters tonight, I did a reading and I was the Word master for the evening. I am getting more and more confidence in speaking to an audience.

Snow Storm, January 21-22, 2011

This is a picture that my father took giving himself a light to his cigarette. He just had an old camera, (this was back in the '40's)!!! Amazing what you could do if you had an imagination!!

We are in for a Nor'Easter tonight. Expected snowfall around 2-25 cm. Guess I know what I will be doing tomorrow morning, shovel, shovel, shovel.........

The one and only Matilda Murdock

This is Matilda Murdock, a trip to the Miramichi would not be complete without visiting O'Donaghue's Pub, and if you are lucky, very lucky, you will hear Matilda perform. She has composed hundreds of tunes, and this fine lady will be 91 next week!! and still going strong!!

Jam Session at O'Donaghue's Jan. 2, 2011

One of the occasional Jam Session that goes on at O'Donaghue's Pub in Miramichi. In this photo are Bannon Morrissy on bango, Dale Whitty on mandolin, and Maltida Murdock on fiddle. This is always an enjoyable way to spend Saturday afternoons.

Someone was busy overnight.

We had a dusting of snow overnight. When I looked outside my window, I noticed someone had built an ikukshuk. These are massive boulders, someone was quite strong!! Anyway, the boulders have all been taken away, I am glad I saved this moment in time.

Digging a mass grave, or.........

One day upon arriving home from work, I saw that they had dug a big hole in the cemetary. I just moved here awhile ago, apparently this is done on a biannual basis to take the boulders out. The hole is then filled with top soil so more graves can be dug in the future. Interesting.
