Time off

Five years ago, my daughter, Christina and I started to have a Mother/Daughter weekend away each summer.  Today, we are off to Pictou, New Glasgow, Truro in Nova Scotia.  We will end up in Fredericton, NB on our last night, Saturday to visit with my son Andrew.  Originally, we were supposed to spend time with my other son, David, however, he, his wife and my little grand daughter, Katie Rose have moved to the West Coast, BC.  (Hope it wasn't our visit that scared them off),  tee hee hee.

For Sepia Saturday #80

I googled "Rosie the Riveter" and I came across this interesting picture.  It was donated by Frances Lorine Rogers Patain.  Frances was a welder on the Double Bottom Assembly at Kaiser Shipyard Number Four in Richmond, CA.  PS-I can not seem to leave comments on Sepia Saturday or in my own blog, it is quite frustrating, is anyone else experiencing this difficulty?

Sepia Saturday 78

This was a form of advertising from L.E. Higgins & Company.  Men were asked to put this in the top of their hats for exposure.  It belongs in my postcard collection.

Helping myself

I went to an inspirational speaker in Moncton last night.  He said in order to have success in your life/work, you need 3 things:

Vision (what you want in your life)

Focus (visualizing you already have it)

Action (taking action to make your vision a reality.

His name is Joshua Hayward, good speaker.

Anyway, I came away from there thinking I would like to have my own talk show or be a stand up comedienne.

I actually started last night (about the comedienne part) when I got up to speak, he said to the crowd, say hello to Rose, they all called out "HELLO ROSE", I answered back, "Hello, my name is Rose and I'm an alchoholic---OOPS, wrong meeting".......It cracked them up, it was at the beginning, excellent ice breaker.

He is coming to the Miramichi June 22nd. Would like to go back.
