Although these fair ladies were not going to a picnic, they were all wearing hats! Here is a selection of various hats. My thought is that the one standing in the back (right) looks alot like the one sitting (center). For some reason, two have the same kind of coat. However, they are all nicely outfitted.

4th and last night of the 56th Miramichi Annual Folksong Festival
Here we are the last night, this is The Gillis Family from Redbank, NB
Terry Whalen Jr. showed up and sang us a few songs, he is a local.
Ivan Hicks from Sussex, NB comes up every year since 1987. He is a great fiddler, last night, he actually sang!!! Who knew? He sang one of Stompin' Tom Connor's songs, he has a lovely voice!! When he got off the stage, I told him I never knew he could sing, he laughingly said, "Neither did I"....
This was the lovely painting I was selling tickets on at the door. It is called "Mystic Miramichi". Painted by artist, Edie Szabo -Englehart.
Ah---Finally the Jam Session at the Black Horse Tavern across the street from the Folksong Festival! Matilda Murdoch was in attendence, she is a local 94 year old fiddler, I don't know when she went home, I left at 1am and she was still there enjoying herself!!!
Ian Craig from Scotland, Greg Hover from New York, and Gerry Roberts from Ireland belting out a song!
All I know is that her name is Stephanie, she came from Bathurst, NB to be with us at the Jam Session.
The Gillis Family, Margaret Steiner, Greg Hover, and Melanie Ross Breen.
Here is the inside of the program with a reminder of next year's dates for the next Annual Folksong Festival, can't believe it is here and gone!
This is the next festival in Miramichi, the Acadian Festival August 15. (My roots) Will have to attend this in some manner, probably just for lunch as I will be working that day.

3rd night of the Miramichi 56th Annual Folksong Festival
Gary Silliker now makes his home in Mahone Bay, NS but is originally from here, comes back every year!
Melanie Ross Breen
has been singing since she was knee high to a grasshopper. She is now married and has little ones of her own, comes back every year, has a workshop for the children on Wednesday afternoons of the Festival.
Aubrey Stewart from Miramichi, easy to listen to kind of singer.
Aubrey is joined by his wife, Helen Stewart.
Frances Hubbard, Miramichi belts out a few songs.
Terry Kelly, a motivational an inspirational singer from Halifax, NS, sharing a joke with Susan Butler, the organizer of the Festival. Both are recipients of the Order of Canada!!!!
Terry Kelly, great rich, deep voice! Has many CD's out.
Terry Kelly and Melanie Ross Breen having a chat in the Lobby.
The Miramichi Hotel which houses the Black Horse Tavern will be loud and musical tonight as the Kitchen Party gets under way tonight after the Thursday night segment of the Folksong Festival winds down! The picture is slightly tilted, (not because I had too many brews at the Black Horse, but, because I was in a boat on the river when I took this picture)....LOL

The 56th Annual Miramichi Folksong Festival August 5-9, 2013
The Piper is getting ready to lead the procession up to the stage on this evening, August 5, 2013.
Thus started the 56th annual Folksong Festival!
Marshall Button, well known actor originally from Dalhousie, NB now presiding in Moncton, NB opened the Festival on some funny comments.
Tim Irving on the left received an award for faithfully supplying the sound system (which he does expertly) for the last 30 years! Congratulations Tim!!
These are our very own Miramichi Fiddlers, they have been opening for the Festival for years, real good sound.
Our favorite accordion player, Roger Langteigne from Bathurst, he can surely play that musical instrument. He also plays at the Acadian Village in Caraquet.
This is Al Parrish (a folksong performer) from Kitchener, Ontario. (the shirt is a little bright, but I guess he likes it that way) LOL.

Thunder clouds overhead
Now, I am normally scared of thunder, but some of the best photos I have taken was either during or right after a thunderstorm. In this instance, it was immediately following a thunderstorm Tuesday night. The picture above was taken behind my house.
This picture was of the neighbour's house across the street, but it could have been anywhere in the forest....would make a good Stephen King book cover for one of his eerie stories.....
