I took from this week's picture the theme that you should do as you are told....In this photo of my classmates of 1959, we weren't told to "look up" but we must have been told to smile alot, fold your hands in your lap, and cross your legs at the ankles. The private school was run by nuns and "ladies" did not cross their legs at the knee.....I am in the front row, fourth from the right sporting my (rather dirty) white bucks and saddle shoes and why my Mom let me out of the house with a white belt instead of a black or navy one is beyond me!!! But all in all, despite fashion faux pas, weren't we just the cutest bunch!!

For Sepia Saturday, October 15, 2011
Since this week's theme is soldiers and eating, I thought I would submit this picture of Arthur Godin, a former neighbor of mine. It was taken during the liberation of Holland in April, 1945. Although Arthur was a cook in the army, he was also a good shot. When Arthur died, a neighbor googled his name / sniper and this picture showed up among others. The family used it for the program cover. For other interesting photos and themes, go to:

Flickr World Wide Photo Walk
http://sepiasaturday.blogspot.com
This week, I just couldn't get into the theme, so I posted one of the many pictures I took last Sunday on the Flickr World Wide Photo Walk. It was the fourth annual for Flickr, but the first one for Miramichi. There were about a dozen of us who braved the cold wet weather, but we had a lot of fun. We ended up after 2 hours at a local restaurant for a cup of tea/coffee. Now that we have formed a group, we will probably go on more excursions, though the annual walk is the only one where you can enter a contest with your choice of picture. I chose this one, I took it on the side of an old lodge called Castle Lodge. It rather reminded me of a painting instead of a picture. For other marvelous pictures, go to http://sepiasaturday.blogspot.com
Happy Thanksgiving to all who celebrate it at this time!!

Technology!!!!
I am having trouble with my connectivity to my internet. For no apparent reason, I lose connection with internet. Shutting off my computer helps, but that is annoying. Plus, I don't think my computer likes being put on and off all the time. Time to approach my server I guess because this is not fun!!!

Miramichi's first annual Photo Walk
I have posted some of my pictures from the World Wide Photo Walk from last Sunday at:
http://www.flickr.com/photos/a_la_carte
We started at Lounsbury street and finished at the City Square Restaurant for tea/coffee. Most enjoyable even if it did sprinkle a bit of rain at times.
