Men's Suits from 1939

This was the closest I could come to men's suits that show up in AB's post.  It is from an old catalogue from Simpsons for Fall 1938 to Winter 1939.

King Edward VII

From my postcard collection.  I believe, aside from the stamp of Queen Victoria, that he is the only royalty I have in the collection.

I will have to be contend with looking at all the other blogs for pictures.  I have been trying for two days to post an image unsuccessfully.  When I browse, the image shows up, but the box with "Add Selected" is in a grey mode and does not allow me to click on it in order to post my image into my new post.  I have always managed to post pictures before now.  I even cleared my cookies, but to no avail..............

I am having trouble posting a picture this morning, will try again tomorrow.  Maybe the blog is experiencing bad weather such as we are experiencing here now........

For Sepia Saturday March 5

Wash day must have been time consuming back then.  I still appreciate my washer/dryer!!!!

Wednesday, March 2, 2011

I aced another speech at Toastmasters last night.  It was on Queen Victoria, events and some noteworthy people in her lifetime.  It was supposed to be only 5-7 minutes, but I was clocked at 10 minutes and 29 seconds!!  I even dressed up in one of my costumes as a Victorian Lady.

Onwards to my 4th speech now, I would like to complete the ten recommended speeches before the first of June.

Steamboat Alexandra

This steamboat travelled from Newcastle to Chatham, New Brunswick.  It was a work boat in the daytime, and an entertainment boat by night, with music and dancing, and just a wee bit of drink..........
