The Waters aren't always calm...............

I spent three glorious days at the Beach House visiting my daughter-in-law, Kim and grand daughter, Katie Rose who are visiting her parents.  The first day, the water was very calm, we woke up the next day to very rough seas.....It is so relaxing there, I must go up more often this summer.

A Day at the Beach

Sunday I went to the Beach House in Bathurst to see Kim and Katie Rose.  They were visiting at Kim's parents' cottage.  The logs you see in the last picture is what the storm brought in during the big storm in mid December, 2010.  There will be a lot of clean-up all along the beach this Spring.  I am going for a longer visit this weekend for the Victoria Day holiday.

An Embarrassing moment at Toastmasters

I was Grammarian-Ah counter and Reader at Toastmasters last night.  We had a different kind of table topics last night.  We were given a food (the theme for the evening was food) and we were to speak a couple of minutes describing what we were without saying the name.  At the end of the two minutes, the others were to guess "what" we were.  I drew "chocolate" and proceeded to do a fairly good job, saying how, in the Victorian age, only the upper class could afford me, but now, everyone could partake.  At the end, I went on to say some people say it is even better then "sex", that is when I realized that our new guest was a pastor, a little embarrassing moment there....tee hee hee.  We exchanged recipes, I brought this recipe, it is a South African dish, given to me by a lady who moved here with her husband a few years ago.  He is one of our local doctors.  It is very tasty.

A very special delivery by post

I got a pleasant surprise in the post, an envelope with my grand daughter's picture on the stamp.  The Post Office didn't even cancel the stamp, they left it immaculate, that was so nice of them.  The cover of the Mothers Day card was all roses, she is a little "rose", I am her NanaRose, so appropriate.....I will miss her dearly when she moves away to British Columbia in a few weeks.

In Keeping with the wedding/love theme this week for Sepia Saturday

This is a photo of my parents, Edmond and Jeanne taken on their wedding day in 1946.  It is tattered and torn, had to retouch the creases out of it.  I was born in 1950, I can still remember Mom sitting at the Vanity table combing her long curly hair when I was around five and thinking I had the most beautiful Mom ever!  She is still a good looking 81 year old.

Perfect day from start to finish

On Friday morning, I treated my daughter (who came to visit overnight) to a delicious breakfast as we both watched the royal wedding on TV.  We later travelled to the Beach House at Youghall Beach in Bathurst and watched the sunset, it had many glorious colors that night.  It was a perfect ending to a delightful day.
