Simpsons Catalogue of 1939

I purchased this old catalogue at an estate auction a few years ago.  I look through it once in awhile and just marvel at the styles and PRICES!!  I could take my pay of today and have a brand new wardrobe, appliances and furniture with just one pay!!

The Circus Comes to Town

Well, after all the delays because of the bad weather, we finally were able to have a meeting for Toastmasters tonight.  I gave my speech, "The Circus Comes to Town" about when my brothers and I put on a circus one summer in our backyard.  I had a good evaluation.  Now onwards to my next speech which will be on the reign of Queen Victoria.

Notre Dame Convent Postcard

This is Convent Notre Dame, it was situated across the street from the old Court House (previous postcard).  It burned down around the turn of last century.

Old Court House In Newcastle, NB

Our old Courthouse, corner of King George Highway and Prince William St(now Newcastle Blvd.).  The new courthouse is just down the highway.  The house next door was torn down a few years ago, and the trees are no longer there either.  This building is up for sale, hope someone buys it and puts it to good use.....
