Flickr World Wide Photo Walk

http://sepiasaturday.blogspot.com

This week, I just couldn't get into the theme, so I posted one of the many pictures I took last Sunday on the Flickr World Wide Photo Walk. It was the fourth annual for Flickr, but the first one for Miramichi.  There were about a dozen of us who braved the cold wet weather, but we had a lot of fun.  We ended up after 2 hours at a local restaurant for a cup of tea/coffee.  Now that we have formed a group, we will probably go on more excursions, though the annual walk is the only one where you can enter a contest with your choice of picture.  I chose this one, I took it on the side of an old lodge called Castle Lodge.  It rather reminded me of a painting instead of a picture.  For other marvelous pictures, go to http://sepiasaturday.blogspot.com

Happy Thanksgiving to all who celebrate it at this time!!

  1. I've never heard of the Flickr World Wide photo Walk. It sounds like fun, especially if it produces lovely pictures like your.

  3. The walk does sound like a great time! I've never gone on a photo shooting expedition or walk though I know my bro-in-law has. He has posted some excellent shots on Facebook from the walks. Seems like a great idea.

  5. That curtain looks as though it belongs in a Victorian photographer's studio! Great photo, thanks for sharing it.

  7. By the way, the Castle Lodge is for sale if anyone is in the market of buying an inn in the middle of the city. It is on the corner of Pleasant St and Newcastle Blvd. The civic number is either 152 Newcastle Blvd or 152 Pleasant St. Call Remax (506) 624-2500 and I will be able to recommend a great agent.....(not me of course, I am the Receptionist, I do not sell property)!!

  8. You're right. It does look more like a painting than a photo. And as an added bonus, the promise of more excursions with a great group of people. I'd say it was a successful walk! Thanks for sharing!

  9. It's very nice how the streaks in the glass helped to add a painterly texture to the drapes. Very nice.

  10. It does look like a painting, and it would be fun to use the image for a painting.

  12. @Alan, glad you were able to get through. I am not quite sure what the group will do next, but I am quite sure I can post any picture any time on this site as long as it is mine.
