Matida Murdoch's Jam Session at O'Donaghue's Pub today, August 17, 2013

After attending the Dragon Boat Races, I saundered over to O'Donaghue's to catch the Jam Session.
Dale Whitty, very talented man, plays many musical instruments.
The "Lady" of the day, 93 year old Matilda Murdoch, the place was packed, no more seats available, I was lucky to get a seat in a tiny corner.....
Dale again effortless switching from one instrument to another....
 Bannon Morrissey playing the banjo.
Gerry Roberts from Ireland playing the bodhan and Aubrey Stewart in the background playing the guitar.
Gerry also sang us a few songs, he has a marvelous rich deep voice.
Aubrey and his wife Helen who gave us a rendition of Waltzing Matilda.
Gerry Robert's son gave a tune also.
I went around taking pictures of the artifacts around the pub, starting with the Matilda Murdoch corner, the fiddle tune that composed for O'Donaghue's is a tad bit crooked, but none the less, a nice tribute to Matilda.  She is posed here with the Lieutenant Governor of Canada after presenting Matilda with the Order of Canada.
More artifacts on the walls of the pub.
Picture of a good ole Kitchen party.
One of the beers offered at the pub.
 The Ireland Family Map.
 An Irish blessing??????
Shaleighlees (proper spelling eludes me right now), but they were hanging overhead.

Thus ended another great and fine jam session at O'Donaghue's, I will patiently await the next one, and God willing Matilda will be at many more......

  2. Whenever I see such wonderful pictures I want to jump on a plane and come right on over. One of these days I will give you a shock, you will walk into that bar and there I will be sat.

    1. A jam session with Matilda doesn't happen every Saturday afternoon, but when she announces she will be there, the crowd gathers!
