This is my Mom, Jeanne. She is 83 years old. Sundays we spent time together. She is in a Special Needs Care Home. In the wintertime, there is limited places we can go, so we usually end up at my place for a cup of tea and coconut cream pie (her favorite). But in the summertime, we take drives, today we went to Nelson/Miramichi, a lovely little spot right across the BeauBear's Island.
We sat on the bench above and looked onto the Miramichi River and watched boats go by. This lonely little rowboat was moored not far from us. The tide and wind kept turning it around.
Some people were getting on a boat that was docked at the Interpretive Centre to go over to Beaubear's Island. This island has quite a history which I will get into another time. Every summer, actors in outfits re-act what life was like in the past century or two. The island is not inhabited right now, it is a national park. The people get off the boat and the actors are situated in various spots all over the island, nice touch.
These two buildings are right across from the Governor's Mansion. This is the south side of the buildings, and below is the north side. The smaller building seems to be held up with stilts in the water....
Well, after awhile, I took Mom back to her home, it was a quiet, reflective time for both of us.
That is so nice of you to take your mum out every Sunday. I'm sure she waits for every Sunday with eagerness.
ReplyDeleteYes, she does, she is the one with the most visitors at the Care Home, my siblings and I make six children in all. Only one is out West Canada, the others are within an hour and a half away. Nice to have the support of my siblings.
