I went looking through my bible to see what was in there.  I found some pansies I had put there between waxpaper back in the mid '90's, then I came across some more pansies I had put there last year.

Upon further investigation, I came across a card I had put there and a sheet with "The Old Rugged Cross" hymn.  I guess the bible holds just about anything you want it to hold for you........

Then, here is a collection of pansies my daughter made for me of pansies in my garden from the '90"s.

It's a weird assortment, but, what do you have in your bible?
To see more "blessed" findings, go to  www.sepiasaturday.blogspot.com, have a great week everyone!!!

  1. Gosh, I remember putting flowers between pieces of waxed paper & planting them in a heavy book many long years ago, & when my girls saw them, they wanted to try it too. Don't know whatever happened to all those pressed flowers though? We don't have them anymore. We should have framed them like your daughter did for you. What a nice idea.

  2. Your post remidned me of the pansies I found along with the First World War cards sent by my grandfather to his family back home. I had no idea how long they had been there (as long as I can remember) , but they added to the poignancy of the cards and were a lovely touch.

  3. Pansies always look so wonderful when they have been pressed and kept, don't they? There is something of a fine watercolour sketch about them.

  4. We seem to have an empty Bible, not a pansy in sight. In fact I can't find a pressed flower in anything. We always have flowers in the house however.

  5. I researched ways to preserve flowers from my daughters' wedding bouquets, and putting them between the pages of books always was mentioned. Your pansies are preserved nicely. They're my favorite flower, by the way. Love those with a face.

  6. Oh my goodness, I was always sticking four leaf clovers in books in my childhood! Even now when I look in old books I wonder, will I find one again!

  7. We used to do this when I was a child too. It's a lovely thing to do.

  8. Why didn’t I think of that? The Bible, of course! These pansies are lovely and the card with the Thoreau quote is so apt.
