I received an email from a niece in Ontario this morning. She wanted to contact someone about the family history. It got me interested in finding out more about my Mother's ancestry..the Duclos clan. Think I will start a search, from what I've been told they came from an island off France's coast, Saint Maurice.

I always think a somewhat unusual name makes for easier research (mind you, Duclos might be a common name in France for all I know). My mothers' family were Beanlands : just unusual enough to make it more likely that any other Beanland you find will turn out to be a long-lost cousin.
ReplyDeleteI may have my work cut out for me. I have a cousin in Montreal, Quebec whom I'm told has started to research the Duclos line. All I know is that they were not Acadians as is all my other relatives, they came over to Canada after the Acadian Expulsion.
ReplyDeleteIf you or your cousin ever want assistance I'll be happy to help!
