Married in Plaid
I went with the plaid theme, Mary Pickford is wearing a plaid shawl. This is a photo of my grandparents on my Mother's side, Mr. and Mrs. Clement Duclos.

Your Grandparents look very nice. They have a certain gentleness around them.
ReplyDeleteThere is something about the boots and the rather twisted bow tie that is rather endearing.
ReplyDeleteWhat a cute couple. Such spiffy dressers.

Very handsome couple -- love the shoes.
ReplyDeleteWhat a gorgeous photo - I love how they both stand with their toes pointing out.
ReplyDeleteGood to follow the theme. Your grandparents are a handsome couple!
ReplyDeleteWhat was the event I wonder, because they both have flowers?
ReplyDeleteI enlarged it to see the plaid and there it is. Is this really their wedding photo? What year,do you know?
ReplyDeleteThey are a good looking couple. Quite a difference in height even with the heels on your grandmother.
ReplyDeleteWas he tall or was she small?
ReplyDeleteThere's something of the young Jimmy Stewart.
Brett, this was the occasion of their marriage, which Pat, I believe was around 1926-27, my Mom is 81 years old and she was the oldest. Tattered and Lost--My grandfather was about 6 foot 4inches, my grandmother wasn't that short either. They went on to have six or seven children, then he lost her when she was in her early thirties of a goither. He was my favorite grandfather. (by the way, I did not inherit height from either as I am the shortest of my 5 siblings.
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely photo of your parents on their wedding day! Do you think she kept her flowers or threw them away as they do these days, and the woman catching them may be wed next?
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful photo. They look so pleased! Thanks for posting this one today, it made me happy to see it.
ReplyDeleteHappy SS,
Kathy M.
He's a big tall guy - and looks very young. What a lovely photo for you to have :-) Jo
ReplyDeleteFantastic picture! I love your grandfather's hat!
ReplyDeleteI do like the more intimate and comfortable feeling of wedding photos such as these. It's like they dressed up for a very special occasion, but didn't get all crazy like some girls today do.
ReplyDeleteThis is a great picture...I want her shoes!
