Steamboat Alexandra

This steamboat travelled from Newcastle to Chatham, New Brunswick.  It was a work boat in the daytime, and an entertainment boat by night, with music and dancing, and just a wee bit of drink..........

    I am assuming that it is a different Newcastle to Newcastle Northumberland. I can't see that little boat making it across the Atlantic.

    Actually, it WAS Newcastle, Northumberland County, here in New Brunswick, Canada. The distance between Newcastle and Chatham was only around 15 KMS.!! We have been almalgamated into the city of Miramichi since 1994, so we no longer refer to ourselves as Newcastle and Chatham.......
